My Mom and Dad came to help us get some final things ready for baby a couple weeks ago. We got so much done! I had really been feeling like we had nothing ready for baby's arrival if he came early so it's great to now feel like we're ready. Mom and I sorted through all of our baby items and got the clothes sorted and washed the newborn and 0-3 month clothes. We've hired a contractor to repair the window that leaks in the baby's room (and fix the rest of the windows in the house) but with the summer being a busy time, he hasn't been able to start yet. We can't repair the water damage until the window is fixed so in the meantime baby will stay in our room. We got his changing table all set up in our bathroom, and his bassinet set up in our room. We also got our hospital bags packed.
As for house repairs, our entry room, dining room and living room all still have the dark wood historic windows so we decided not to replace those. We will put new storm windows on all the historic windows but 2 of them needed to be restored before that could happen. Kyle (with some help from friends and family) has been stripping the windows, re-glazing them and getting them re-painted. They're all finished now and look great!
